Ahmedabad summers are not a joke. From March, the city sits above 40°C for weeks at a stretch, and by May there is a point in every Amdavadi’s year where the only rational plan is to get into a large volume of cold water and stay there.
Which is why this city has built an entire ring of waterparks around itself — from an eight-kilometre hop in Maninagar to a resort ninety-five kilometres out in Modasa.
The problem with most “top 10 waterparks near Ahmedabad” lists is that they’re written by people who have never driven to any of them. They list the same parks with wrong distances, three-year-old prices and no opinion whatsoever.
This one has distances you can plan around, current pricing, what a day actually costs once you add fuel, costume rental and lunch, and a straight answer on which parks deserve your Sunday.
One standing caveat: water park pricing in Gujarat changes every season. Everything here reflects 2026 rates. Call before you drive.

1. Shanku’s Water Park — the default answer
Where: Amipura, Ahmedabad–Mehsana Highway (NH-48), roughly 55 km out. About an hour’s drive on good road.Timings: 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, daily. Entry (2026): around ₹1,000 on weekdays, ₹1,200 on Sundays. Packages with food run roughly ₹1,225–1,425, and food-plus-costume bundles around ₹1,525–1,725. Children under three feet enter free. If somebody in Ahmedabad says “let’s go to a water park” with no further detail, this is what they mean. Shanku’s sits on a large resort property with racing slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, a rain dance floor, a snow zone and a proper toddler area — plus rooms, which makes it the default for corporate offsites and school picnics.
Why it wins: breadth. It’s the one park where a nine-year-old, a nervous grandparent and a thrill-seeking twenty-two-year-old will all find something.
The catch: it’s the priciest on this list, it closes early at 5:30 pm, and Sunday crowds are genuinely heavy. If you’re paying premium, go on a weekday and get your money’s worth.
Verdict: the right answer when the day itself is the occasion and budget isn’t the constraint.
2. Swapna Srushti — the value pick for large groups
Where: Amarapur village, near Amarnath Dham on the Gandhinagar–Mahudi highway, roughly 48 km from Ahmedabad and about 25 km from Gandhinagar. Timings: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, daily. Entry (2026): around ₹500 weekdays and ₹600 weekends for entry alone. The all-inclusive package with breakfast, lunch and evening snacks runs roughly ₹899 weekdays and ₹1,000 weekends.
Spread over about 130 acres, this is one of the largest water parks in Gujarat by sheer land area — artificial waterfalls, a snow zone with simulated snowfall, a fog and rain zone, wave pool, slides and a substantial children’s area.
The maths that matters: the meal-inclusive package is the single best value on this list. Roughly ₹899 covering entry plus three meals beats buying ₹500 entry and then feeding four people from a food court. For a family or an extended-family outing, this is the calculation to run.
Bonus: Amarnath Dham sits next door, which means the trip can be sold to relatives as partly a temple visit. Use this information responsibly.
Verdict: best all-in value, especially for groups of six or more.
3. Splash The Fun World — the closest serious park
Where: Sarkhej–Sanand Road, Telav-Kolet, roughly 20 km from the centre. Timings: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm; ticket counters typically open from about 10:30. Entry (2026): around ₹750 for adults, ₹600 for children under 4’6″, free below 2’9″. Tickets are non-refundable — worth knowing before you book on a cloudy morning.
About 12 acres, built around high-speed tube slides, a wave pool, a rain dance floor and a kids’ zone. Later closing than most, which matters more than people realise: a 7 pm close means you can go after lunch and still get five useful hours.
Who this is for: anyone in SG Highway, Bopal, Prahlad Nagar, Satellite or Sarkhej who doesn’t want the drive to be part of the day. Thirty minutes door to door from most of west Ahmedabad.
Verdict: the best distance-to-quality ratio on this list.
4. Maniar’s Wonderland — the budget champion
Where: Sarkhej–Sanand highway, about a kilometre from Sarkhej Circle. Roughly 12 km out. Timings: 10:00 am – 8:30 pm, daily — the latest close of any park here. Entry (2026): amusement park around ₹220 adult and ₹180 child; the snow park around ₹450 adult and ₹400 child, with warm clothing included. Under-2s free. Adventure add-ons like zipline, zorbing and aqua ball run about ₹30 a go.
This is a hybrid — amusement rides, water rides and an indoor snow park on one site — and it is dramatically cheaper than everything above it.
The honest framing: don’t come expecting Shanku’s for a fifth of the price. The water offering is modest. What you’re buying is a low-commitment, low-cost evening out where children under ten will have an excellent time and you’ll spend under ₹1,500 for a family of four.
The snow park is the real draw. For a child in Gujarat who has never seen snow, it lands harder than any slide.
Verdict: best for young kids, tight budgets, and school picnics.
5. Jaldhara Water World — the one you can reach in twenty minutes
Where: Maninagar, near Kankaria Gate No. 5. About 8 km from the centre — the closest on this list. Timings: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, daily. Entry (2026): from around ₹450, with senior citizen concessions at the counter. Costume rental and lockers available on a refundable deposit.
Important: no online booking. Buy at the gate.
Compact, unpretentious and close. It’s not going to compete on ride count, but it’s the only park here that works as a half-day plan rather than a full expedition — and it pairs naturally with Kankaria Lake, which is right there.
Who this is for: east Ahmedabad — Maninagar, Isanpur, Vatva, Ghodasar — and anyone who wants water without committing a full Sunday and a tank of fuel.
Verdict: the practical choice, not the exciting one.
6. 7S Water Park — the crowd-avoidance option
Where: Rohisa (Amsaran), Ahmedabad–Mehmedabad Road, roughly 35 km southeast. Timings: call ahead — hours shift by season. Listed contacts: 9040497676 / 9040497575. Entry (2026): around ₹650 Monday to Saturday, ₹750 on Sunday, free for children under three feet. Costume rental roughly ₹100–150 plus matching deposit; lockers about ₹100 plus deposit. Mid-range park on the Kheda side, and its main asset is that it isn’t Shanku’s on a Sunday. Fewer people, shorter queues, same basic slide-and-pool proposition.
Verdict: solid weekday pick for groups from Vatva, Narol, Kheda and Mehmedabad. Always call before driving 35 km.
7. Bliss Aqua World Resort — for the overnight version
Where: Motidau village, Mehsana–Unjha highway, about 75 km from Ahmedabad. Timings: 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, daily.Entry (2026): reported between ₹650 and ₹800 on weekdays and ₹800 to ₹1,000 on Sundays depending on the source and season, so confirm directly. Under-3-feet free. Costume and locker rental around ₹150 each plus deposits.
The pitch here is the resort, not the park. Rooms on site turn a water park visit into a proper overnight, which suits corporate teams and families who don’t want to drive back at dusk.
Smart routing: Bliss sits in the same direction as Modhera Sun Temple and Rani ki Vav at Patan. A Saturday of stepwells and sun temples followed by a Sunday of water slides is a genuinely good weekend, and nobody plans it.
Verdict: best water-park-plus-stay combination in reach of Ahmedabad.
8. Aqualand, Modasa — the cheap day trip
Where: about 12 km outside Modasa on the Himmatnagar–Modasa highway, Aravalli district. Roughly 95–100 km from Ahmedabad. Timings: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, daily. Entry (2026): around ₹500 adult and ₹400 for children between 2.5 and 4 feet; entry-plus-lunch packages around ₹650 and ₹550. Under 2.5 feet free. Costume and locker about ₹100 each.
The most affordable full water park on this list, and priced deliberately for the northern Gujarat catchment rather than for Ahmedabad.
The honest problem: at nearly 100 km, you’re spending two hours in a car each way to save a few hundred rupees per head against Splash, which is 20 km away. The maths only works if you’re already going that direction, or you’re a large group where per-head savings compound.
Verdict: great value if you’re in or near Modasa, Himmatnagar or Sabarkantha. Hard to justify as a pure Ahmedabad day trip.
Worth the drive: two parks outside the day-trip radius
These aren’t day trips. They’re weekend trips. Included because people search for “near Ahmedabad” and then quite reasonably decide to drive further for something better.
9. Krishna Water Park & Resort, Rajkot — ~215 km
Saurashtra’s largest, set across roughly 18 acres of greenery, with a slide count that comfortably beats anything closer to Ahmedabad — around 51 slides and attractions in total. The headline ride, Sky Fall, drops about 60 feet and delivers the splash in roughly four seconds, billed as India’s steepest. The River Cruise runs about 600 feet, and Turbo Star is the big bowl ride.
Open 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily — a genuinely long day. Entry has been listed around ₹630 for adults and ₹450 for children.
Verdict: if slide count and thrill level are what you’re optimising for, this beats every park inside 100 km of Ahmedabad. Make it an overnight in Rajkot.
10. Aqua Imagicaa, Surat — ~265 km
Imagicaa’s Gujarat water park, and the option to consider if you want a large national-brand operation with the maintenance standards that usually implies. Roughly four to four and a half hours by road, or an easy train.
Verdict: a weekend, not a Sunday. Best combined with Surat itself.
Coming soon: the one that will change this list
Worth knowing if you’re planning beyond this season. Imagicaaworld has moved to develop a new water park in the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar belt, acquiring roughly 34 acres of non-agricultural land with highway frontage in a deal valued at around ₹75 crore, and has publicly described the plan as India’s largest water park. It would be the company’s third Gujarat project, alongside Aqua Imagicaa in Surat and a development at the Sabarmati Riverfront near Atal Bridge.
No opening date has been confirmed. But if it lands as described, the top of this list changes completely — and you won’t need to drive to Mehsana any more.
What a water park day actually costs
The ticket price is not the price. Here’s a realistic build for a family of four to Shanku’s on a weekday:

Now run Swapna Srushti’s meal-inclusive package for the same four people: roughly ₹3,600 covering entry and three meals, plus around ₹700 of fuel. Total under ₹4,500.
That gap — often ₹2,000 or more for the same day — is the single most useful thing in this article. Meal-inclusive packages, where offered, are almost always the better buy.
Two more money notes:
- Carry your own swimwear. Rental runs ₹100–150 per person plus a deposit. For a group of six, that’s ₹900 you didn’t need to spend.
- Ask about group rates. Most parks offer unadvertised discounts for groups of 20 or more. School and corporate rates can be dramatically lower. Always phone rather than booking online for large groups.
When to go
March to June is peak: all rides running, maximum heat, maximum crowds, maximum prices. This is what water parks are for.
July to September (monsoon) is quieter, sometimes with reduced hours, and some parks trim operations. Cheap and empty, but call first.
October to February is cool. The water is cold, some parks run limited operations, and it’s genuinely not much fun for small children. Snow parks make more sense than slides in this window.
Weekday versus weekend is the biggest single lever you have. Nearly every park charges more on Sunday, and queues for the good slides run 20–30 minutes at peak. The same park on a Wednesday is a completely different, much better experience for less money.
Arrive at opening. Most gates open at 10 am. The first ninety minutes are the emptiest and coolest part of the day, and you’ll get through the popular rides before the crowd builds.
What to carry (and what they’ll stop at the gate)
Bring:
- Your own swimwear — most parks require proper swim costumes, not shorts and t-shirts, for slides and pools
- A change of dry clothes, and a second one for children
- Towels — usually not provided
- Waterproof phone pouch, or accept that your phone lives in a locker
- Sunscreen, reapplied after every couple of hours in water
- Flip-flops for hot walkways
- Cash for deposits — refundable deposits are often cash-only
- A small first-aid basic: plasters, and something for a scraped shin
Expect to be stopped for:
- Outside food and drink. Most parks don’t allow it; they run their own food courts. Confirm in advance, especially if you have dietary needs.
- Glass bottles, always.
- Regular clothing in the pools at the stricter parks.
On costumes and comfort: most parks rent swimwear, and plenty of women in Indian water parks swim in leggings and a full-sleeve top rather than a swimsuit. Both are normal; the only thing worth checking is whether a specific park insists on rental costumes for pool access, because some do. Ask on the phone, not at the gate.
Safety: the section people skip
Water parks in India vary a lot in operational standard, and a few minutes of judgement on arrival is worth more than any review.
Look for, in the first ten minutes:
- Visible, attentive lifeguards at the wave pool and slide exits. Not a chair with nobody in it.
- Clear water. You should see the bottom of every pool. Cloudy water means poor filtration.
- Height markers on slides being actually enforced, not decorative.
- Slide surfaces free of cracks and rough patches.
Non-negotiables for families:
- The wave pool is where accidents happen. Non-swimmers and children belong at the shallow end, always, with an adult within arm’s reach — not watching from the side.
- Height and weight limits on thrill slides exist for a reason. Don’t argue with a ride operator to get a small child on a big slide.
- Never go down a slide head-first or in a chain, however many people are doing it.
- Heat and dehydration are the underrated risk. People don’t feel thirsty in water. Drink on a schedule.
- Nobody swims after a heavy meal. Ancient advice, still correct at a wave pool.
If a park looks poorly maintained on arrival, leave. The entry fee is worth less than the alternative.
