Why advertise with a city publication
National platforms sell you scale. A city publication sells you relevance.
Our readers are in Ahmedabad. They eat out here, enrol their children here, buy property here, hire here and raise funding here. When a restaurant in Navrangpura, a coaching institute in Maninagar or a SaaS company in Prahlad Nagar advertises with us, none of that budget is spent on someone in another state who will never walk through the door.
We are a young publication, and we are honest about that. What we can offer today is an engaged, city-specific readership, ad placements that aren’t competing with fifteen others on the page, and a team that will actually answer your email.
Who reads us
Two overlapping audiences:
- City readers — people who want to know what is happening in Ahmedabad: civic decisions, transport, culture, food, education, real estate, everyday life.
- Business and startup readers — founders, operators, professionals, investors and students following the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
If your customer is a resident of Ahmedabad or someone building a business here, they are the person reading this site.
What you can book
Display advertising Standard banner placements across the site — homepage, section pages and article pages. Available by week or by month, with rotation or exclusivity depending on the slot.
Newsletter sponsorship A sponsored placement in our email editions, which go directly to subscribers who chose to receive them. Inbox placement tends to outperform display for local businesses because there is nothing else competing for attention.
Sponsored content and branded features A properly written article about your business, your founding story, your product launch or your expansion — produced to the same standard as our journalism, and clearly labelled as sponsored. This works best when you have something genuinely worth reading about, not just a message to broadcast.
Event and series partnerships Sponsorship of an editorial series, a recurring column, or an event we host or cover.
Listings and recruitment Job listings and local business listings, for companies hiring in Ahmedabad or serving the city.
If you want something that isn’t on this list, ask. We are small enough to build a format around a good idea.
Rates
Rates depend on the format, the placement and how long you book for, and they change as the publication grows. Email amdavadgully@gmail.com with a line about your business and what you’re trying to achieve, and we will send you the current rate card along with a recommendation for what we think will actually work for you.
Longer bookings cost less per week than one-off placements. We are open to discussing packages for local businesses running a sustained campaign.
How we handle sponsored work
Advertising pays for journalism. It doesn’t direct it. A few things we hold to, and that you should expect from us:
- Everything paid is labelled. Sponsored articles, partnerships and promoted placements carry a clear label. Readers should never have to guess what they are looking at.
- Advertising does not buy editorial coverage. Booking an ad does not get you written about, and it does not keep you out of a story either. Those decisions sit with the editorial side and are not for sale.
- You approve your own copy, not ours. On sponsored content you have full say over your message. You don’t get to review or influence our reporting.
- We say no when it doesn’t fit. We decline advertising that is misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, or that we don’t think we can put in front of our readers in good conscience — including unlicensed financial and investment offers, betting, and claims we can’t stand behind.
We would rather lose a booking than lose a reader’s trust, because the second one is what makes the first one worth anything.
