These terms govern your use of amdavadgully.com and everything we publish on it. Amdavad Gully (“Amdavad Gully”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent digital news and features publication covering Ahmedabad.
By visiting the site, reading our work, subscribing to our emails, commenting or sending us anything, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site.

1. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the publication develops or as the law changes. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with its date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Where a change is material, we will say so publicly rather than slip it in quietly.
2. Using the site
You may read, share and link to our work freely, for personal and non-commercial purposes. That’s what it’s here for.
You agree not to:
- copy, republish, scrape, mirror or redistribute our articles, photographs or graphics in bulk or in substantial part, whether by hand or by automated means, without our written permission;
- use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on our servers, or attempt to bypass any technical restriction, paywall or access control;
- use our content to train commercial machine learning or generative AI systems without our written permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its systems, or the accounts of other users;
- upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, or anything designed to interfere with the site’s functioning;
- use the site to send spam, harvest email addresses, or conduct any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive activity;
- represent yourself as a representative, employee or contributor of Amdavad Gully when you are not, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests an association or endorsement that doesn’t exist.
We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe someone is doing any of the above.
3. Our content and your right to use it
The original articles, photographs, graphics, layouts and design on this site belong to Amdavad Gully or to the contributors who created them, and are protected under Indian copyright law.
You are welcome to:
- quote a short extract with a clear credit to Amdavad Gully and a link back to the original article;
- share links to our work on social media, in newsletters and in group chats;

You need our written permission to:

4. Comments, tips and anything you send us
What you may not post. Do not submit anything that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, invasive of someone’s privacy, infringing of someone’s copyright, misleading, or otherwise unlawful under Indian law. Do not post other people’s personal information. Do not use our comments or forms to advertise.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for what you submit. By submitting it you confirm that it is yours to submit, that it doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights, and that it is not knowingly false.
Our rights over it. We may publish, decline, edit for length and clarity, moderate or remove any submission, at our discretion, without notice and without giving reasons. We don’t pre-verify user submissions and we are not responsible for their accuracy.
The permission you give us. When you send us a comment, a letter, a photograph or a tip for publication, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to publish, edit, reproduce and archive it on our site and in our emails, with credit where appropriate. You keep ownership of your work — this licence just lets us run it.
If you’re a source. Story tips and confidential source material are handled under the terms described in our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, including our commitment not to voluntarily disclose the identity of a confidential source.
5. Emails and subscriptions
Where you sign up for our email editions, you agree to receive them at the address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any issue, and we will stop. We may also send you service messages — a change to these terms, a security notice, a reply to something you wrote to us — that are not marketing and that you cannot opt out of while you use the relevant service.
6. Accuracy and reliance
Our work is journalism, published for general information. It is not legal, financial, investment, medical or professional advice, and we do not warrant that everything on the site is complete, accurate or current at the moment you read it. Coverage of a company, product, scheme or investment is not an endorsement or a recommendation. Please read the Disclaimer in full — it sets this out properly, and it applies to your use of the site.
7. Advertising and third-party links
Advertisements, sponsored placements and promotional content on this site come from third parties. We label paid content clearly. We do not verify or endorse advertisers’ claims, products or services, and any dealing between you and an advertiser is strictly between the two of you.
We link to external sites to let readers check sources and read further. We don’t control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Availability of the site
We try to keep the site running, secure and up to date, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend, move or withdraw any part of the site, or any article, at any time, without notice. Access is provided free of charge and we are under no obligation to keep any particular feature available.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amdavad Gully, its editors and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of this site, your inability to use it, or your reliance on anything published here — including loss of profit, business, data or reputation.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Amdavad Gully against any claim, loss, liability or reasonable cost arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or content you submit to us that infringes someone else’s rights or breaks the law.
11. Complaints and grievances

This is our grievance mechanism under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours of receipt and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
Corrections of fact are made promptly and marked on the article. A request to remove accurate published reporting is a different matter, and we consider such requests on their editorial merits.
12. Ending access
We may withdraw your access to the site, our emails or our comment sections if you breach these terms. You can end your side of it at any time by unsubscribing and no longer using the site. The sections on our content, your submissions, liability, indemnity and governing law survive after access ends.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
14. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion doesn’t mean we give up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the whole of the agreement between you and us regarding your use of this site.
